The Village Forge - mid 40's
The Blacksmith ( John Butler, holding the sledge hammer) and his Apprentice (Willie Murray who would later become The BlacksmithBack in those days The Forge was a favourite meeting place, especially for local farmers who would stop by on their way home from the local Creamery, sometimes to have their horse shod and other times just to talk on local affairs. Anything said at the forge was considered as sound information and I well recall people ascertaining their information with the saying
"So they were saying at the Forge"
